Elna League Hanson

The celebration of life will be held Friday December, 1st at Johns Ridout’s in Birmingham (2116 University Blvd) at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held from 1:00- 2:00 PM.

Elna was born on August 25th, 1935 in Haleyville, AL to Elmer and Leona League.

Elna is survived by her siblings Bennie (Buford) Thompson, Ann Gault, and Robert League, and sister-in-law Judy Ross of Huron, SD. In addition, Elna is survived by her children: Paula Garman (Thomas Bailey) and Mark Hanson (Kelly) of Birmingham, grandchildren: Robert Hanson (Emily), Andrew Garman (Lauren), and Alex-Hutchison Hall, and great grandchildren: Austin, Olive and Ace Hanson.

Elna was a graduate of Haleyville High School in 1953. She attended the Mid-South School of Banking in Memphis, TN. Elna spent 30 years in banking attaining the rank of Vice President, Trust Operations at AmSouth Bank, Birmingham, AL. (Regions). She loved traveling to Gulf Shores, AL with her family. Elna was a devoted Christian and was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
