Age 96, passed away October 5, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 75 years to Frieda Mazer. Beloved father to Jay Mazer (Mina) and Glenn Mazer (Geri). Adored Grandfather to Jessica Schuberth (Michael), Alexandra Mazer, Ryan Mazer, Matthew Mazer, and Erica Brandon (Michael) Great grandfather to Preslee Schuberth, and Maya Brandon. Many cousins, nieces and nephews that called him their favorite, and he adored them.
Eph was predeceased by his parents Eva and Ben Mazer, his brothers and sister in laws Joseph and Jane Mazer, and J.B. and Lynette Mazer.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was past President of the Levite Jewish Community Center. Very active in his Synagogue (Temple Beth El) throughout his life serving on the Chevra Kadisha ( Society of Honor) for over 60 years. Eph was often the first person the Jewish community called when a loved one passed away. He would walk the grieving through some of the toughest times of their lives, easing their burden and guiding them down a very emotional path. He was trusting and beloved.
Eph had a great sense of corny humor and loved making people laugh.
He was well respected in the commercial real estate arena in the greater Birmingham community.
Throughout his 96 years he touched so many lives, always there and always caring.
His family is so appreciative of the wonderful caregivers at The Brook Assisted Living Community, as well as the hospice RN's from ACG Hospice. They are angels.

His Graveside service will be held Tuesday October 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery Lot 40
Followed by a Memorial Service at Temple Beth El Followed by a dairy lunch.
