Eti Schachter

Eti Schachter born Feldstein (that we all knew as Coca a nickname her brother gave her when she was one year old after his toy) passed away on October 27 2023 after a long battle with metastatic endometrial cancer

She was born in Galati Romania on May 21 1941 and survived the Holocaust as a child

Growing up behind the Iron Curtain in Romania under a totalitarian communist regime she made the best of it by graduating nursing school at age 20 and working as radiation oncology nurse for 40 years and helping hundreds of patients

She married her husband after 6 dates and they celebrated 58 years together and was a force of nature who was dedicated to raising her only son and propelling him to an improbable future

She travelled the world (over 50 countries ) , was dedicated to her family and friends and was well loved

She is survived by her husband Izaia (Jachi) Schachter , her son Armand Sorin Schachter MD and daughter in law Susanne Seaborn Schachter , her grandkids Michael Sky Schachter ,John Ryan Schachter, Preston Forrest Settle(wife Mallory)Jesse Christopher Seaborn (wife Yasmine )and great grand kids Preston Forrest Settle Il and William Settle,her niece Nili Feldstein Lisbona (husband Tsur)

She is preceded in death by her parents Manase and Clara Feldstein and her brother Soli Feldstein

Funeral Services to be held Sunday October 29 at 1 pm at Elmwood Cemetery

600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211

followed by visitation at 330 pm at the family's home.
