FIFLES, GUS “DENO” G., of Hoover, passed away in his sleep on February 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, George T., and Martha P. Fifles; his brothers Ernie, Pete, Phil, and Art Fifles. He is survived by his wife, Tasia Grammas Fifles; his children, George, Stephani, Chris, and Mark (Lisa) Fifles, Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren Chantelle Amerson and Chrysten Wilson (Jeremy); and great-grandson Jimmy Wilson. Deno was born on May 13, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. He and his family moved to Birmingham, in 1967. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and he loved his church family. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Holy Trinity Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral (307 19th Street South). from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting at noon. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
