Jerry E. Stewart Sr.

STEWART, JERRY E. SR. , age 70, of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. and Rosalee Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Stewart; son, Jerry E. Stewart, Jr. (Cathy); grandchildren, Kevin Stewart and Kayla Stewart; sisters, Mary Rose Whitten, Janice Murphree and June Opsahl; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry served on the Deacon Board at Packer Memorial Baptist Church and Eastmont Baptist Church and was currently a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church. He retired from Delta Airlines after 29 years of service. Jerry loved sitting on the front porch swing and was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and brother. He could be depended on to always help and was greatly loved by everyone. His family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel. His service will be at the chapel on Sunday, January 23, 2011 beginning at 2 PM with Bros. Ryan Whitley and Steve Parr officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
