My Grandmother and Grandfather were the best grandparents a girl could ever want. I am so blessed to have had them for 50 years. My Grandfather, affectionately known as BigDaddy, was a gentle soul. He had the softest hair, softer than cotton, and not a wrinkle until he was over 80 years young. My Grandmother was stern and strict but, she had the kindest heart, was the best cook ever and I knew with all my heart that she and my BidDaddy loved me unconditionally. They were generous, selfless and smart. Whenever I was at their house, which was most of my childhood and often in my adulthood, I felt safe and warm. I am so grateful that my children got to know and love them. My heart is so broken. I have comfort knowing that they are with God and with one another, I just miss them so very much. I look forward to the day I no longer cry for them.

My daddy was a wonderful man. He was generous of spirit, kind and compassionate. He was in love with my mother, his wife, for the entire 65 years of their marriage. Even though my mother was seriously ill the last five years of her life, he remained devoted to her and provided excellent care for her. He died trying to get to her. I know he is with her still. And I know that he is at peace and that he is with God. I miss him.

My Uncle Fletcher was a soft spoken man with few words but a kind heart. He will be truly missed. May God grant him and his wife, Aunt Eunice, Paradise.

I met John Fletcher, 1. cousin of my husband John, and his wife Eunice at the Grubb's Family Reunion in 2007, Alexander City, Al.
We spent a weekend with John and Eunice at their home and had a great time.
The last time we talked with him was on his birthday this year.
May their memory be a blessing.

You have my deepest sympathy. I have no words that can relieve the heartache you all are feeling. For me,I find some comfort in the memories of the times I was in the presence of uncle Fletcher and aunt Eunice, especially the times Chiquetta and I visited with them in their home. They always made us feel welcome. During this time you can find some comfort in the memories of special moments you shared with them.

I'm, Thomas and Eva Williams son, I remember mr.fletcher helping my father build a brick wall at our home ,he was a excellent brick mason and very soft spoken, after my father pasted he would call my mom every day to check on her, my mom hadn't received a call from him so she tried calling him, no one picked up, so she drove to his house to check on him and sadly found out that they passed almost a week ago, we're deeply saddened and will miss them, they was like family to us , we're thankful for the time that God allowed us to share with them.

Any time we lose a member of the Grubbs, we all feel the pain and sorrow. However we know that it is God ‘s decision, regardless of the circumstances, on the day he brings any of us to our final resting place. So let’s rejoice and praise him for time he allowed us to enjoy John Fletcher’s presence.
