Leigh Schniper, a loving wife and best friend to Jack Schniper, a mother and a friend, passed away on Friday, April 9, after a lengthy battle from Multiple Myeloma and Dementia/Alzheimer's. She is one of eight siblings: Dick, Linda and Gary Thompson, Gail Barrett, Laverne Hurt, Kay Fleenor and Beth Bruce. She attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA., and moved to Birmingham, AL, where she attended Samford University and met the love of her life, Jack, who loved her with all of his soul. Leigh was a compassionate, caring and unconditionally loving person. Above all, she loved Jack and her sons, Adam, Jordan and Matthew, and her closest friends, Trula and David Reynolds and Kit MacLeod. Leigh was an artist, with a passion for life. She was kind, charitable and empathetic. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile and laugh. She loved reading, movies and watching sunsets from her front porch. She followed her sons' lives with devoted interest. They are a living reflection of her life's work and carry her heart and spirit with theirs. The family would like to thank friends and family who've helped with Leigh's care, including Jack's family Abe and Jessie Schniper and Steve and Anne Schniper, as well as their children and grandchildren.
