Margaret D. Barr

Margaret Willadean "Dean" Barr, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at age 86 on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Dean was born on May 11, 1932, in north Alabama, the eighth of ten children. She moved to Birmingham in the 1950s where she resided in the Forest Park area until her death. She worked at Rich's department store at Brookwood Village for almost two decades where she was well-liked and made many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, mother Kate, father James, brothers Johnny, Allen, Ernest, Jim, and sister Mary Lee. She is survived by her five children, Sherry, Yvonne, Debra, Philip and Eric, grandchildren Amber, Deana, Willa, Ashley and Karow, sisters Bertha, Evelyn, Helen and Edna, she was also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

The service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Parlor, University Blvd, Birmingham, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Brookwood Memorial Gardens in Arab, Alabama.
