Margaret Crane Williams, 54, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2012. Margaret was a God-given, gifted musician, whose specialties included piano and organ. She accepted the call of ministry through her music at the age of sixteen when she began her career as a church organist. Though encouraged over her early career to utilize her gift through performance, her heart was to glorify God through her talents in church. She currently was the organist at Avondale United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. Up until her passing, her full-time career was working for the Baptist Health Systems. She served in the Chaplain's office, medical education department, and most recently as a program coordinator for the transitional year residency program, among other positions over the course of her twenty-eight-year tenure. Margaret loved her Lord, and rarely missed an opportunity to share Him, along with the blessings He had showered her with, given the opportunity. She was a woman of strong faith and courage.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Audis, whom she dearly loved and missed. She is also survived by a son, Michael Williams, of Nashville, TN, and Katie Williams Ross, of Birmingham, AL and their spouses; two brothers, Carl Crane, of Detroit, MI, and Dave Crane, of Lawrenceville, GA, one sister, Mary Crane Moore, of Alpharetta, GA and their spouses; and one niece and three nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Avondale United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 at the church.
