Marilyn was a life-long member of Avondale United Methodist Church and church choir. She loved to sing the Alto part of the hymns. Dickson, Jr. on January 7,1950. Their love and partnership lasted 62 years until his passing in 2012. Lovingly known as MND, Mom and Mama D to family, she held dear her relationships with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grands. There were numerous organization involvements in her life that were important to her, two of them being Avondale United Methodist Women and volunteering at Baptist Montclair Hospital- Trinity Medical Center (1991-2014). Jim and Marilyn owned and operated Cascade Plunge for 50 years. She helped sell season swim passes, kept the books, and did most of the organization of company picnics.Loving to sew, she was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for herself, children, and grandchildren. Later in life Marilyn continued to bless her family by cross stitching pictures, wedding samplers, and new baby announcements. For each grandchild she also made Chrismons for their Christmas trees. She was a true "Southern Lady", all things gracious and good. The legacy of love and family she leaves behind is what defined her. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband James H. Dickson, Jr, her parents Rip Nabors, Dora Nabors, and Elizabeth Nabors, brothers Herschell and Bill Nabors, sisters Marjean Simpson and Betty Railey, and son-in-law Ralph Chapin.
