Marlin Houston Anderson Jr.
March 4, 1938 – March 17, 2023

Marlin Houston Anderson Jr., 85, passed away at his home in Birmingham AL on March 17, 2022. He was born March 4, 1938, in Montgomery AL, the son of Marlin H. and Augusta Ruth (Goodson) Anderson.
Marlin graduated from Lee High School and joined the Air Force. He earned a degree in Mathematics and Physics at Huntingdon College and a PhD in Physics at Auburn University.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Allen (Sonny) Anderson, and sisters, Joanne Thompson and Patricia Magdalenski. Surviving in addition to Rochelle Prescott Anderson, his wife of 57 years, are sons Marlin H. Anderson III and his wife Angela, of Birmingham; Michael Anderson and his wife Kathy, of Pembroke, KY; Marshall Anderson and his wife Lilia of Birmingham; and Ron Anderson and his wife Jami of Madisonville, KY; ten grandchildren, Austin Anderson, Alexander Anderson, Laurel Anderson, Marlin (Allen) Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Ashley Densmore, Dylan Johnson, Mikayla Owens, Jude Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson; two sisters, Doris Johnson of Folkston, GA and Julia Andrews of Trussville; a brother Charles Anderson of Birmingham.
A service of remembrance will be held in the chapel at First United Methodist Church Birmingham, 518 19th St N, at 11:00am, March 25th. Visitation will be held at 10:00am in the adjoining parlor. Those who wish to remember Marlin in a special way may donate in his memory to Red Bird Mission, www.rbmission.org.
