PURDY, MARY HAMMOND Age 88, of Hoover, AL died November 4, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans L. Purdy, Jr. and grandson, Evans L. Purdy IV. She is survived by her son, Evans L. Purdy III (Stephanie) of Marco Island, FL; daughters, Patricia P. Cummings (Bob) of Birmingham, AL and Susan P. Chambers (Bobby) of Montgomery, AL; granddaughters, Leslie P. Schmidt (Chris) of Kingwood, TX, Chris C. Newell (Hal) of Homewood, AL, and Fleming C. Chance (Chris) of Alabaster, AL; great-grandchildren, Harrison & Chambers Newell of Homewood, AL and Grayson Chance of Alabaster, AL; and several nieces and nephews. She attended Bluff Park United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Mobile, AL.
