Mrinmoy Mandal

Born in India in 1938, he received his engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur in 1960, after which he moved to England to pursue studies in engineering, receiving his Masters degree followed by advanced education at Georgia Tech University.

After immigrating to the United States in 1970, he moved to Birmingham in 1981, where he settled down with his wife and son.

Mrinmoy and his wife Swarnalata actively participated in the formation of the Bengali Association of Greater Birmingham. He was elected as the first BABG President and has always supported the Association.

He is survived by his wife Swarnalata, his son Subrata Mandal, and his daughter-in-law Harshna Mandal, of Atlanta, GA.
