Norman J Habshey

Habshey, Norman Joseph, age 98, of Hoover, died July 22, 2013. Norman was a member of St. Elias Maronite Church. He worked in the beverage and spirit business associated with Austin Nichols Distillery and Seagram’s Distillery for 70 years. He actively worked until the age of 95, dressing in his suit every day.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda Habshey; son, Norman Habshey, Jr.; and brothers, John, Joe, Edward, Nade and Wade Habshey. He is survived by daughters, Theresa Habshey (James Coleman) and Jean Philpott; brother, Herbert Habshey (Polly); sister, Linda Roton; grandchildren, Nick Habshey and Mike Philpott; and great-grandchildren, Haley Habshey, Jillian Philpott and Brenden Philpott.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00PM at St. Elias Maronite Church, followed by an Incense Service at 7:00. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Elias Maronite Church. Father Richard Saad will officiate. Mike Philpott, Jamie Harper, Wayne Resha, Buddy McCarty, Johnny Habshey and Terry Habshey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Habshey and Tommy Resha.
