

The youngest son of Harry and Helen Jaffe of Birmingham, Alabama was born February 10, 1936 and died peacefully on September 17, 2013. As a lifetime native of Birmingham, Mr. Jaffe graduated from Ramsay High School in 1954 where he lettered in football all fours years and held All-State honors. He also attended The University of Alabama. He then served our country in the U.S. Air National Guard. He spent most of his professional career in the family's automobile business as well as the scrap iron and metal industry. His commitment to his family was of the utmost importance to him. He is distinguished as a man that always knew somebody somewhere.
Mr. Jaffe is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nancy Scherr Jaffe. In the Mountain Brook community, together they raised their two children, daughter, Amy White (David) and son, Adam. Other surviving family include sister-in-law, Marcia Jaffe; brother-in-law, Norman Scherr (Nancy), numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Jaffe is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard; and brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Rachel Jaffe.
Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery (Block 40), Rabbi David J. Zucker presiding.
