

Sundeep Andy Caplash, age 38, passed away on January 31, 2011 in Birmingham, AL. He graduated from John Carroll High School in 1990, and completed a degree in marketing and finance from Birmingham-Southern College in 1994. He began his career as a portfolio manager and investment advisor at UBS, and was most recently Vice-President, Wealth Management, at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
Sundeep was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law and friend. He was active in all aspects of his children’s lives, serving as coach of his son’s soccer and basketball teams. He played community softball, became an avid runner, and was preparing for the Mercedes Half-Marathon.
He is survived by his wife Nitu, his children Aryan and Sohana, his parents Dr. Vijay K. and Manju Caplash and his sisters Sumita Caplash Gray (Mike) and Monica Caplash; cousins Manoj Caplash (Vandana), Amit Caplash (Preeti) and Rupinder Caplash (Monika), a host of family and friends across the US and in India, and his beloved dog Biscuit.
Sundeep was a wonderful, caring and faithful friend with the unique ability to care for and stay involved in the lives of so many. He never met a stranger. We are all grateful for his life, and he will be greatly missed.
Viewing for friends and family will be held between 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Johns-Ridout’s Funeral Home, 2116 University Blvd. Please join us for paying our love and respect to the departed soul.
Cremation Services will be held at Johns-Ridout’s Funeral Home, 2116 University Blvd. at 11am, Thursday February 3, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society 205.942.1211 or www.gbhs.org
Shaanti Paath (peace prayer) will be held on Saturday Feb 12th, 2011 from 4pm to 6pm at The Hindu Temple & Cultural center of Birmingham, 200 North Chandalar Drive, Pelham, AL 35124.
