Anthony (Blacky) Gammaro Jr. was born and raised in Belleville, NJ on January 28, 1937 to Anthony and Gioconda (Josephine) Gammaro. He was very well known throughout his neighborhood. He was the Silver Lake guy that everyone knew. His profession was a mechanic but he really was a “jack of all trades”. He was able to do anything and loved helping everyone. He was there to lend a hand in a “blink of an eye”. He loved his cars, tools, family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed and in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife, Toni Gammaro, son and daughter in law Anthony and Loraine Gammaro, daughter, Nicole Gammaro, son, Christopher Gammaro, grandchildren Michael and Alicia Wolf and great grandchild, Gia Wolf. AJ and Kat Gammaro. His sister, Sylvia Daly, brother in laws Joseph Conte and Frank LeGates, brother and sister in laws and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his brothers, Carmine and Domenic Gammaro. Predeceased by his sisters, Marie DeLucrezia, Raffaela Carlucci, Dolores Conte, and Diane LeGates. Those who would like to honor Blacky by processing past the Hearse and /or be part of his procession to the cemetery are welcome to do so on Thursday at 12pm. Dearest Gammaro Family,
It was beyond difficult for me to remain in contact with you guys after I lost my husband suddenly & tragically. However, not a day goes by that I don’t reminisce on the days when we lived next-door to your beautiful family. We lived beside the Gammaro family 9 years but The first 2 years after I had my son, I was at home & spent a lot of time taking walks with the baby and loved having the best conversations with Blacky. My child didn’t even know how to talk yet and would get so excited to see him and would say his name! Blacky always took the time to have a conversation and check in with us, he always took the time to be helpful to my family. My husband loved him so much because Blacky had the best sense of humor ever! He was the most down to earth, genuine soul that you could ever know. There were plenty of times he helped us. One example was when I locked keys 🔑 in car as I walked back to the driver side after putting the baby in the car seat. I can’t even explain how hysterical I was and how Blackie came within 2 seconds & kept me calm ...he called a friend at the fire dept. (because he knew everybody). They easily unlocked within minutes but for me it was just comforting to have Blacky reassure that it would be ok- not to mention his sense of humor- it really always brightened our days! The love I have for the Gammaro family go beyond what words could ever express. I am beyond saddened that Blacky will no longer grace this earth with his with his beautiful presence.... However, Iam more than confident that he is in Heaven and it is all of us here on earth that have it a little more difficult having to miss such a beautiful soul like Blacky for the rest of our days here. I remember him always in his garage fixing something or creating something, he was quite the handyman! He was a complete genius when it came to putting things together, it was just so easy for him! HE took pride if you asked about his projects. God bless him❤️

Blacky was a very funny and witty man. The few times I was in his presence nothing but laughter. The Gammaro/Muschio house was the best place to be for holidays, and barbeques, nothing but fun times and lots of love. Thanks for the memories you will be missed.
