Frank lived most of his life in Newark, before moving to Toms River in 2010. He was a tailor for many years in Belleville before his retirement. He served in the US Marines.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Maria Karcich and Anthony DeStefano, Diana and her husband, Donald Back; cherished grandchildren, Allison and Christa Back; dear sisters, Marie Romano, Angela Puma and Helen Fabrizio.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Vitiello), in June of 2011, grandson, Frank Keselica; parents, Marie (Campione) and Oreste Avallone; siblings, Rose Papa, Ralph and Michael Avallone.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, on Monday at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark, followed by the burial at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Ctr., PO Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741, in his memory would be appreciated.
