Geraldine Granese Serritella

Geraldine (nee Granese) Serritella, 87, passed away at her home, on Jan. 3, with her loving family by her side.Geraldine lived most of her life in the Silver Lake Section of Belleville, before moving to Point Pleasant 27 years ago. She was the owner and operator of Granese’s Deli in Belleville. She also worked for Charm’s Candy Co. and Peerless Tube.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Mindy, Teddy Serritella Jr., and daughter-in law, Donna; cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Nicolas and Joelle; dear brother, Dominick “Jr.” Granese and his wife, Toni; dear sister, Dolores Vitiello.

She was predeceased by her husband, Teddy Sr. , in 2004; parents, Assunta (DeMeo) and Domenick Granese; brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Vincent, Bart, and Nicholas Granese; sisters, Rose Vazzano, Jenny Formato, Tessie Pizzano, Anna Maglione and Mildred Muschio.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, on Friday, Jan. 6th at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belleville, followed by the burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 5th, from 4-8 pm.
