She was formerly of Newark and Bloomfield. She was a waitress at Buff’s Restaurant in Newark for 21 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 299 in Belleville.
The service is on Monday at 10am in the Zarro Funeral Home,(www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, followed by the burial at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8.
Madeline is survived by her loving sister, Katherine Barata, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Thatcher, her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
