Maria Minicozzi

Maria Minicozzi ( nee Stengone ), 73, died on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Foglianise, Italy, Maria came to the USA in 1958. She has resided in Summit for many years before moving to Brick in 2003. She worked in the cafeteria at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical before her retirement in 1995.

Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Carmine Minicozzi; loving and devoted children, Donato and his wife, Debra and Anthony and his wife, Susan; siblings, Liliana Catullo, Nicola Stengone, and Fausta Pavoni; cherished granddaughter, Michaela Rae. She was predeceased by her parents, Rosaria and Carmine Stengone and a sister, Cosimina Acitelli.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield.( Memories and condolences can be shared at www.zarrofuneralhome.net), on Friday at 9:00 am followed by a mass at 10:45 am at St. Teresa of Avila, Summit. The burial will be at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery, Summit. Visitation will be on Thursday 5-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory will be accepted to the American Cancer Society, 507 Westminster Ave., Elizabeth, NJ 07208.
