In loving memory of Mayra Melendez, 58, passed away on Saturday, November 21st, 2020. She was born in the Dominican Republic to her parents Isabella Nunez and Domingo Tolentino. She immigrated to New York at the mere age of two. Mayra had a cheerful personality and devoted her life to being a wonderful wife to Jose Melendez and an amazing mother to her three children Anthony, Elizabeth, and Edwin. She was a memorable grandmother to eight grandchildren, T.J., Natalie, Christopher, Elissa, Angilee, Reynaldo, Aidan, and Julian. As well as a great grandmother to three great grandchildren and one on he way, Zayden, Caroline, and Kristian. From her father's side, she was the oldest out of five, Madeline, Domingo, Miosoti, Javier, Brian, and Sheina. Mayra was an amiable coworker and worked as an Activities Director at an adult daycare named "Care with Love" in Jersey City. She inspired the elderly to be motivated and joyful. She left this world a hero by saving not one but two lives, all thanks to her being an organ donor. Ma you will forever be our angel watching over us. Rest in Peace. There will be a Private Cremation and a Memorial Service at a later time.

Oh Miss Mayra! I will miss your voice when you say good morning in differnet languages, your vibrant personality and your creativity. Truly a wonderful woman, who loves her family, great work ethics and who was always kind. I will never forget your stories about your experiences, love story and how you supported my recycled Christmas decor efforts last year. My sincerest condolences to the family and praying for God’s comfort during this difficult time.

I am still blown away by this. I look at text messages and even hoped that I would see her come thru the front door at work. Her presence is and will always be missed. Such a great person, always cheery, bubbly and full of life. I will miss her laughter the most.

She spoke about her family all the time, it's as if we (her coworkers) personally knew each of you. I extend to Jose, and every member of the family my sincerest, deepest sympathy.

The picture attached is one that I took of her in in August at an event..... Love you always Mayra

I little knew That Morning that God was going to call you’re name. In life I loved you dearly, in death I do the same. My heart is broken 💔, you did not go alone; a part of me went with you the day God Called You Home. You left me a piece full memory. Our Mother Daughter chain has broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
You’re Baby Girl Lissy 😔🙏🏻
