He was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield for many years. Philip retired from Clara Mass Med. Ctr as a maintenance worker and prior worked for Federal Pacific Co. as a machine operator. He proudly served in the US Army, during WWII and was a member of the VFW in Cedar Grove.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna (Sbarra) Carfagna; cherished grandsons, Sabino Galioto and Michael Benedetto and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Marietta Galioto; siblings, Anthony and Joseph Carfagna; Theresa San Giacomo and Elvira Bartiromo
Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, on Friday, June 22nd, at 9:15 am followed by a service at 10:30 am at People’s Baptist Church, Clifton. The entombment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21st, from 5-9 pm.
