

Amilcar Michael (Mike) Valles, 87, of San Bernardino, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Mike was born In San Bernardino, California on March 19, 1930. He was the fifth of eight children born to Gonzalo and Jovita Valles.
He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1948 and after serving in the United States Army, he received his degree from UCLA. Mike spent most of his career serving the State of California legislative branch in multiple positions and was instrumental in local politics benefitting San Bernardino County . Mike had a passion for history, politics, music, sports, crossword puzzles and loved spending time with his two granddaughters. He will be remembered for his dedication to those he loved, his quick wit and fun sense of humor.
Mike is survived by three children from his marriage to Robin Valles — Arlo Valles, Mia Valles, and Lori Valles St. Denis and her husband Michael and their two children Emily and Juliana. He is also survived by his two sisters, Judith Valles and Ruth DeSadier, and many nieces and nephews.
As the son of two immigrant parents. He learned English by reading the newspaper every day, starting with the comics and obituaries and continued to do so every day of his life. He often joked that if he didn’t see his name in the obituaries, it was going to be a good day. For all of you reading this, today is not your day so make the most of it.
Services are scheduled for Friday, December 29th at 11:00AM at Green Acres Mortuary in Bloomington, CA.
