Barbara Elaine Irby

Barbara Elaine Irby received her wings on 11/14/2025 with her family by her side. Barbara was born on November 11, 1949 to Henry Allen and Bertha Beatrice Allen in Meridian, MS. She was the eldest of the Allen sisters. Barbara had a tell it like it is personality. She was going to give her opinion whether you asked for it or not. She was a hardworking woman who lived to take care of her children. She found immense joy in being a grandmother and watching her grandchildren grow up. As long as her children and grandchildren were doing well everything was alright in the world. She is survived by her children Ogonna Irby her daughter Erin Irby-Deyampert her grandchildren Jordyn Deyampert Deshawn Deyampert Jr and her sisters Ann Allen Connie Thomas and a hosts of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We love you Momma!

My Aunt Barbara was definitely a force to be reckoned with and unequivocally authentic to herself even if it ruffled some feathers. Our silly conversations, Luther Vandross sing a longs, and her interminable sassiness are just a few of the many things that I will always cherish.

Thank you for teaching me patience, for giving me my infamous nickname, forcing me to learn to cook, and for the countless memories you created for me over the years. I love you and will miss you so much. -Cricket
