Well Bernie, Looks like I am finally getting  the opportunity to come visit you.  Can't believe you've been gone this long. You are still my best friend and have missed you. There is seldom a day goes by that I don't see or do something that reminds me of our friendship. I'm looking forward to our visit.

I remember all the times my daddy took me fishing to all the lakes in Nebraska. It was one the best times of my life. 

I remember a beautiful summer day fishing at the Jetty at Long Beach. Bernie, as our agreement provided lunch (I provided the transportation). We had our usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich, well at least we tried. Unfortunately, there were squirrels that lived in the rocks of the jetty and they had discovered the sandwiches before we did, so we each had half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and the squirrels got the remainder. 

That was the same trip, a seagull managed to get swoop down and gulp down a fish Bernie had just caught and was trying to put on a stringer. 

Was one of our more humorous but memorable trips. 

He may be gone but definitely remembered...

Daddy, you will be missed but never forgotten.

Grandpa Bernie was very special to his granddaughter, Bonnie Taylor Hannam.

Bernard was my Daddy - my fondest memory was listening to Daddy practice his trumpet for the Air Force Band. He gave me my love of music - Daddy I will miss you forever! I’m so glad you got to meet your great grandson, Clark.❤️

My dad loved his country and was proud to have served in the United States Air Force. 

My dad loved his church and was so very happy to have his daughters attend Easter Sunday at his church with him. This photo is at his church in front of the Living Tree. 

My dad & Caryn always had a special bond, he traveled to Caryn's house often to celebrate any and all of the grandchildren events. 
Dad enjoyed being a part of their lives. 

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of my unlce Bernie. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with my cousins and all of those that loved him. May he rest in peace. 

Bernie was the kind of friend who was always considerate and caring. He was a friend who was there when you needed him even when you didn’t know it. 
Bernie had so much appreciation for life, family, friends, church, and his beloved Debbie George.
I am proud to say I had the honor of being Berne’s friend for 45 years - when I first met him working for the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS). As most of you know, Bernie was an avid fisherman (actually he was more than avid about it). Since I was also, we formed an instant friendship that went beyond just fishing, as our friendship grew. 
We had many great fishing trips, many memorable stories, and just plain had fun. Besides the fishing thing we discovered we had other interests in common. We both loved gardening, cooking and of course enjoying the results, and partying with the DPSS gang.   
The world lost a really great guy November 5th. There is no replacement for him. He leaves a big hole in the lives of all that knew him.

I met Bernie way back in the 1970's, when we all worked on Lemon St.   All of us loved Bernie.  Always smiling, always helpful, just a dear friend.   When I think of Bernie,  I smile.  This picture is from my retirement party, October 2006.  RIP, Bernie, you will be missed.

This is my most memorable moment of my uncle Bernie with his sister, Metterine, who was my mother. The time he spent with her during her declining health was very special and heart-warming for both Metterine and her family. The joy Uncle Bernie brought to our lives will never be forgotten. 
We are wishing you all peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Uncle Bernie you will be missed terribly.  All the good times shared growing up. You were always so loving, calm and patient.  Kenny and I enjoyed hearing about your fishing stories. Our hearts are broken and you will truly be missed. I enjoyed the conversation and our last visit at Farmers and watching you hitting up your favorite spots.  RIP we love you❤️🙏🏾❤️.

Those that know my dad know that this is one thing he loved very much!

My dad has been a positive influence in my life, as we drew closer each year we were able to share and laugh through much of life choices.
We shared a love for gardening, fishing and a love for our furry friends, Brownie his dog and Sammie one of the many beloved cats he & Debbie have.
He helped me with my online studies for the assignments which required teaching others and earned me an "A" for that course.

I love & miss him dearly, but know he is with a loving Heavenly Father.   


Bernie was such a nice man; always helpful, always smiling.  A snappy dancer. I am forever grateful for the help he provided me.  This is a picture of Bernie at my retirement in 2016.  Love  to Debbie. 

Bernie was a wonderful dear friend and colleague. So many accomplishments/deadlines at D.P.S.S. were met with Bernie at the helm. Although I haven’t seen him in so many years, I’ll always remember that kind face, winning attribute, and smile. Bill and I send our sincere condolences to his family during this time of sorrow. May we all meet together in the next chapter of “Life”.
