Blanca Estela Munguia

Blanca Estela Munguia was born the fourth child of seven siblings, on August 20, 1958, in Calexico, California. Blanca is survived by her mother, Maria Cardenas Munguia, her sisters, Diana, Maria, Susana, and Monica, and by her brothers, Miguel and Tony, and their families. Her father, Antonio Munguia, died two years ago.

Blanca affected many lives, both at work, and in her free time. She had a Master's in Social Work, and worked at Patton State Hospital for close to 18 years. She then became a Parole Agent in South Central Los Angeles. She retired from this, and continued to work part-time as a Clinical Licensed Social Worker at West Valley Detention Center.

Blanca also had the soul of a librarian, with deep love for books and libraries. As a volunteer for over 14 years, she was in charge of the Book Store at the Riverside Buddhist Center and was well-known as "The Book Store Lady". She was also highly valued as a volunteer, as Treasurer most recently, for the Friends of the Rialto Library. Blanca was an active member of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club, and at Vibe Fitness Studio of Rialto.

Blanca Estela Munguia transitioned from this life on December 8, 2019. She will always be in the hearts of her loving husband, Ken E. O'Ferrall, her son, Esteban Griffin, her family, friends, SGI members and her co-workers.
