

Charlie Hugh Stanfield was born in Fort Stockton, TX at Memorial Hospital on Feb 9, 1952 @ 2:33a.m. To the proud parents of Forde Lincoln Stanfield and Josephine Leyva Stanfield. He resided in Alpine, TX until approx. 1957. The family then moved to San Bernardino, CA where he lived until approx. 1978 when he and his wife at the time Julie Stanfield decided to move to Salem, OR until 1981. Charlie decided to move his family back to California where he resided until the time of his passing on May 15th, 2021.
Charlie and Julie were married on June 24th, 1972; unfortunately the marriage was dissolved in 1993. They remained close and were always there for each other.
He and his wife of 21 years Julie Stanfield made a life together and had 2 children in which are survived by him. Diane Marie Mercado and Larry Stanfield. Diane’s husband Noe Mercado.
Charlie’s 4 grandchildren Nico Rojas, Jesse Rojas, Eva Rojas and Arianna Mercado.
Charlie’s 4 great grandchildren Aiden Rojas, Avery Rojas, Atalie Rojas, Isla Rojas.
Charlie’s surviving siblings Bill Forde Stanfield, Barbara Ann Stanfield and Robert Lee Stanfield.
Charlie graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1971. There he played football, baseball and was also part of the school marching band which he played the trumpet.
He attended a trade school in Rancho Cucamonga in 2000. Where he acquired his certificate for Home Inspection.
In his adult life he had many accomplishments. “I like to say he was a jack of all trades.” He was a man that loved what he did and took much pride in his work. He loved the fact that he had his own business and had no boss, but himself to answer to.
His laughter was contagious and you could not help but to give in every time he had a joke.
He was a very prideful, strong and beautiful man. And in this life I am proud that god gave him to me and allowed me to call him my dad.
