David was a native of San Bernardino, where he grew up with his parents David C. and Jeanette, brother Jack and sister Barbara.
From 1966 to 1969 David was a machinist in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Vietnam War. After the Navy he worked briefly at a dry cleaning business, then spent most of his career at Stater Bros. Market, working his way up from box boy to Vice-President. He retired in 2005 and moved to Carlsbad, CA.
His love of the ocean continued throughout his life, hosting numerous fishing trips, trips to Catalina, and his infamous dinghy rides around San Diego’s Mission Bay.
David is survived by his sons David Jr. (Melanie) and Marc (Sarah), daughter Shelley (Jeff), and four grandchildren Britlee, David III, Jackson and Ryan.
