Edward Grant Stevens of Hesperia, California, passed away on December 21, 2020. Grant was born on August 5th, 1942, in Lackawanna, New York, the son of Herschel and Helen Stevens. He met his wife, Lynne, on a double date with one of his best friends, and shortly after spending time in the army, they married in 1963 and eventually settled in Hesperia to raise their three daughters. Friends and family knew him as Grant while others referred to him as Ed. That made answering the phone fun as we always knew if someone was calling just to sell us something. Grant worked as a journeyman sheet metal worker, was a certified electrician, and finally retired from Costco Wholesale. He was incredibly resourceful and could find a way to solve any problem, “macgyvering” his way through the situation. While Grant lived a quiet life, those around him could always count on him to be there to help. He loved his family fiercely. He taught his daughters the importance of hard work, to be dependable, to do for others, and to care for each other. Grant is survived by his wife of 57 years Lynne, his three daughters, Sharon (Marty Ramos) in Coarsegold, CA, Deanna (Walt Klima) in Hesperia, CA, and Mary (Joe Colclasure) in Cartersville, GA and his grandchildren Christopher, Sarah, Stefani, Tyrus, and Balanna, and his great grandchildren Gwynneth and Maxine. He also leaves behind his sister Cathie (Steve Drew) in Lemoore, CA, and a niece, nephews and several great nieces and a great nephew. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Herschel Stevens and his brother Frank Stevens. Visitation will be on February 3rd and services on February 4th at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington, CA.
