
Fred L Bauer, 94 born in Havre, Montana on January 28, 1919 to John and Mary Bauer, passed away at his home in Rialto, Ca on June 19, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Amy Bauer and his children daughter Marion Casey and son Lowell Bauer. He will be missed by his granddaughters Amy (Ted) Calavan, Patricia Bauer and Sara (Eric) Emerson and great grandchildren Rachel and Patrick Calavan, and Kallie, Coben and Noah Emerson. He is survived by his sister Katherine Carr as well. He is proceeded on death by Ernest Casey, and Marion and Amanda Bauer.
Mr. Bauer served in the US Navy during World War II earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer were he specialized in working with metal.His time in the military was noted as he was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. During his time serving in the US Navy, he could not help but fall in love with the Hawaiian culture and landscape. After many trips to the state he fashioned garden concrete stepping stones resembling each of the island shapes. He then placed these island replicas in his garden in their natural positions as they are situated in the Pacific basin.
