Helena Edith Tarbaux

Helena (Pat) Tarbaux passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022 at the age of 91 due to complications from a stroke. Pat was a long-time resident of Rialto, CA after relocating from Binghamton, NY. She shared a happy marriage with Robert John Tarbaux until his passing in 1992.

Pat was born in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania to Giuseppi and Maddalena Mango where she graduated from high school in 1948. She earned a BS in Education from Kutztown State Teachers College in 1952 and a MS in Education at Syracuse University in 1958. Pat enjoyed a long and rewarding career in education as a teacher in New York and California and then, as a counselor at Colton High School. She inspired and guided many students to reach their potential and achieve their educational, career, and personal goals. Her career also introduced her to many cherished life-long friends who could always count on her to provide delicious food for any social gathering.

Pat was a devout Catholic and as a dedicated Christian lived her entire life in the service of others. Pat’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Sunday dinners filled with laughter and love exemplified her love of cooking, entertaining, and celebrating her beloved children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, lively conversations, and heartwarming smile. Anyone who knew her will treasure the blessing she was to us all.

Pat is survived by her three adoring children and their spouses: Nanine (Carli) Tarbaux, John (Tracey) Tarbaux, and Michele Horner and her brother John (Pia) Mango and her four grandchildren, Anthony Horner and Andrew, Robert, and Adam Tarbaux and four great grandchildren.

Services for Helena (Pat) Tarbaux will be as follows.

• Visitation on February 16, 2022 at Green Acres Memorial Chapel from 4:00- 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

• Funeral Mass on February 17, 2022 at 12 pm noon at St. John the XXIII Catholic Church at 222 E. Easton Ave, Rialto, CA followed by a committal service at 1:30 pm at Montecito Cemetery at 3520 E. Washington St, Colton, CA.
