Janice was born in Akeley, Minnesota in 1923. She had an older sister La Verna. Their education was in a large brick building for Elementary thru High School. Their father, Clarence Sachow, was superintendent of schools and the town Sheriff.
After graduation, Jan met a handsome service man, also from Minnesota.
Jan & Ray were married in 1942. Ray was based in Chicago & Georgia.
Her husband was sent to Germany, so she went home to Minnesota to have her first daughter. Judy was born in 1944. Jan lived with other service wives in a big house in Akeley. Her husband came home to a one year old girl.
After the war, they followed her Dad to Fontana, CA to work at the new Kaiser Steel Mill. They had one more daughter, Joleene, born in 1951.
While in Fontana, Jan heard the gospel at a local church. She by faith, accepted the Lord. She was a stay at home Mom, loving wife and worked in the things of the Lord.
In her later years, she was widowed and became a volunteer at Kaiser Hospital. This lasted for 25 years.
She leaves behind two daughters, Judy Larson and Joleene Reitan. A Son-in-law Peter, Granddaughter Kim & (David Youngblood), Grandson Peter, Great Grandson Daniel Corrado, his wife Annie, and children Tiberius and Thyri. We all had a great time at her 100th birthday.
