He was preceeded in death by his parents, His wife of 61 years, Deloris Hixson McHenry, whom he married November 21, 1948; Sons: Ronald Oliver McHenry, Martin Aaron McHenry and Paul Anthony McHenry, a daughter, Rhonda Lee McHenry Flinn; Grandson, Martin McHenry. Jr ; great-great granddaughter, Aubrey Johnson; brothers, John Robert and Ralph Duane and sister Norma Irene
He is survived by his companion of 8 years, Terry Jackson; Grandsons, Zach McHenry, Don McHenry (Dee); Granddaughters, Veronica (Tom) Othouse, Joy (Luke) Wagner, Wendy (Travis) Clark, 10 great grandchildren: (Christian Livingston, Gage McHenry, Justin Prather, Brody Alford, Ziek McHenry, Devin McHenry, Caleb McHenry, Hannah Wagner, Hayley Wagner, Macie Clark, Ellie Clark ) and one great-great grandchild, Greyson Johnson; One brother, Dale McHenry and one sister, Margaret (Midge) Junge; Daughters-in-law, Jennifer Smith McHenry and Jodi Loughrie McHenry and special nephew, Mike (Theresa) Amato.
He graduated in 1947 from East Pike Run High School in California, PA and later attended Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He came to CA looking for work with his father and brother, they arrived on July 3, 1952, he was first hired as a mechanic for a rock company and then was hired as an electrician in 1955 for Kaiser Steel and retired from there. After retirement He and his wife Deloris opened a lawnmower repair shop in Fontana. He moved to Victorville in 2002 and resided there until his death.
He was a member of the Methodist Church
He loved bowling, all types of dancing including square dancing, exercising and his music taste ran from big Bands, 50's rock, country to jazz.
