Sister Rosa (Rosie) Mae Murrell who was born on February 3, 1944 in Halifax, Virginia to Sherman and Susie Venable who preceeded her in death. Rosie moved to San Bernardino, California at the age of 12. She received her education from San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, California. Rosie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 25.
Rosie met Richard Ormond Murrell and married on January 12, 1960 in San Bernardino, CA. Rosie met her life partner Wesley McAllister of San Bernardino, CA whom she spent over 35 years with until the Lord called her home. Rosie worked for the San Bernardino Unified School District where she received an award for 33 years of service.
Rosie was the type of person you could call about any situation and she would always have an answer. You may not like her answer, but she gave it. Some of her favorite sayings were, "Stay out of grown folks business; Roll your eyes one more time; Get in the house, you ain't worth the swag on bread; and last but not least, I'ma beat all the black off of you." She touched the lives of many. Those that met her never forgot her especially if they tried her German Chocolate cake. Anyone who knows Rosie could attest to how much she loved to watch soap operas (Young and the Restless & General Hospital). If you were going to stop by to visit or call her, you knew what hours to avoid. One of her favorite actors was Shermar Moore. She was also a faithful viewer of the sitcom Empire and the Haves and the Have not.
Rosie was a resident of San Bernardino for over 60 years. Rosie relocated to Las Vegas, NV in September 2013.
Loving memories of Rosie will be cherished in the hearts of her surviving sister Gertrude Jackson; eight children: Sandy(Lamont) Luckett, Richard Murrell, Terri Dixon, Lisa Murrell and Michael (Tina) Kilgore of Las Vegas, NV, Wanda (Ricardo) Hylton, Lynette Patin, and Tammy (Joseph) Pinger of San Bernardino, CA; 16 grandchildren: Lakisha Harris, Anthony Beal, Jr; Latrice Cunningham, Robert Dixon, Jr; Konstance Murrell, Richard Murrell III, Kimberly Murrell, Karly Murrell, Christopher Patin, Anarissa Milgrove, Gregory Murrell, Michael Kilgore Jr., TaNaeja Kilgore, Jeremiah Kilgore, Micah Kilgore, and Maliah Hilgore, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
