Shirley was born on February 28, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Ida (Noll) and Anthony Vincent Wambaugh. Shirley passed away peacefully in her home alongside family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lewis and her son Daniel West. Shirley is survived by her sister Dorothy Machacek, sons Daryl and David West, seven grandchildren Christopher, Aaron, Brandon, Dennis, Maureen (Pallares), Steven and Amber (Alexin) West. Shirley also had ten great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “Gigi”. Ian, Riley, Gracie (Pallares), Robbie (Pallares), Ethan, Lucas, Vincent, Lydia Rose, Lucas and Oakley (Alexin) West.
Shirley was primarily a homemaker most of her life but also worked at JC Penney in the jewelry department for many years. Shirley was a fantastic cook who also loved to bake pies, cakes and many other pastries. Shirley always would bake her sons their favorite pies and big events always included a dinner of a seven bone roast, mashed potatoes and all the fixings. That was always something we looked forward to. You can almost smell the roast cooking now!
Shirley will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Raymond Lewis in Green Acres Cemetery in Bloomington, California. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Christopher, Aaron, Brandon and Dennis West in addition to her great-grandsons Ian and Riley West.
Mom, we love you and miss you dearly. May God bless you and keep you in his grace.
