

When World War 2 broke out, he tried to get in the Marines but was too young to enlist. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. On April 1st 1945 he took part in the invasion of Okinawa. He was shot in the arm 10 days later by a Japanese sniper while he was carrying a wounded Marine on a stretcher, he was patched up and sent back into combat on Okinawa he was on standby during the Korean war, and went to combat in Vietnam in 1968-1969. In 1969 Vincent was on recruiting duty and recruited and enlisted his son Vincent II in the Marines. Vincent Sr8 retired from the Marine Corps
In 1980 and for a while, worked for the Post Office and even opened up his own Broasted Chicken restaurant in Bloomington, California.
Vincent proudly wore the Marine baseball cap. When thanked for his service, his reply was that "It was just a job".
Vincent was a Life member of the Vietnam Vets Chapter #47 in Riverside.
He was a member of the elks #836 in San Bernardino.
He was a Life member of the DAV.
It was also a Life member of the Marine Corps league Detachment 1459 out of Redlands.
He was also a Life member of the Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee.
Vincent was preceded in death by his wife Madeline in 2003.

services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on the Monday, October 16th at 2 pm. The shelter for the services can be obtained at the gate house.
