Alice was born June 5, 1917 in Normal, Illinois, the daughter of Dr. John and Irma Schad Blum . She attended University High School and got a Bachelor of Education from ISNU. She taught high school Latin and English in Greenfield, Princeton, and Cerro Gordo, Illinois. She then moved to Chicago where she worked for 17 years at Union Station as an information clerk and as a switchboard operator . She married Michael Budz, Sr. on June 5, 1950. After retirement from the railroad, Alice worked for 15 years at Trade Winds Tours, and then at Aloha Hawaii and Hawaiian Visitors Bureau as a receptionist. She moved to Clinton in 1998.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Blum; two sisters, Julia Bates and Maurine Pierce; two sons, Mickey and Paul; and her husband of thirty-six years, Mike.
She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be private.
