Alice H. Ferguson

Alice was born August 31, 1923 in LeRoy to Louis and Lenora Strange Hoover. She married Eugene W. Ferguson September 8, 1946; he preceded her in death in 1997.

Surviving are two sons, Scott (Karen) Ferguson of Lincoln and Gary (Barbara) Ferguson of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Marcus (Jessica) Ferguson and Erik Ferguson, and Heather Gardner, Timothy Ferguson, and Shane Ferguson; 2 great-granddaughters, Melinda and Sophia; 7 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Mary Williams of Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, William Hoover, Juanita Carver, Jack Hoover, Martha Underwood, and Donald Hoover.

Funeral services for Alice will be held at 11:00am Monday April 1, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens’ mausoleum. Memorial services will then be held at 3:00pm at Lincoln Christian Village’s Conjugate Building, 1500 7th St., Lincoln. Pastor Rob Roy and Pastor Ryan Edgecombe will each officiate services.

Alice was a longtime member of Park United Methodist Church, Bloomington and became a member at Atlanta United Methodist Church when she relocated to Lincoln. She retired from State Farm after many years of service. She enjoyed golfing in her younger years and travelling with her husband.

Alice was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.
