Barbara Garber

Barbara was born June 19, 1923, in Galesburg, the daughter of Paul and Pauline (Edgar) Frymire. She married Lester Garber on December 24, 1945 in Eureka. He survives.

Also surviving are children, Leslie (Murlyn) Westerfield of Bloomington; Marilyn (Russell) Olin of Henrietta, NY; Gary (Carol) Garber of Brownsburg, IN; and Scott (Cheryl) Garber of Normal; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Rodney, Ronald, and Hardin “Bud” Frymire.

Barb attended Eureka High School. She was a member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church, Eureka. She met Lester Garber there and they fell in love and were married on Christmas Eve in 1945. Barb enjoyed being around her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to extend a thank you to Luther Oaks for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Barb.

Per Barb’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date at East Lawn Funeral Home.
