A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at East Lawn Funeral Home, where visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.

She was born August 13, 1940 in Bloomington, daughter of Russell George and Dollie E. Brand Blakney. She married John R. Henderson on December 8, 1962 in Normal.
Surviving are two sons, Sean (Sabrina) Henderson of Chatham and Philip (Tammy) Henderson of Normal; five grandchildren, Jonathan & Jacob Henderson and Krystin, Kourtnee & Kyleigh Henderson and five great-grandchildren, Leighton, Gemma, Hailey, Sarah & Josephine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Sandra Smith, Kay Stults and Judy Mayberry.
Barbara was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She retired in 2002 after working for over 20 years as an administrative assistant for the Illinois High School Association.
