Barbara "Orella" Cameron Bennett

Orella Bennett, 64, formerly of Normal and LeRoy, IL, passed away Wed., October 5, 2011. She had resided in Versailles, KY for 20 years. She was a 1965 graduate of Normal Community High School and an employee of Country Life Insurance for 14 years. She was a long-time, successful AFLAC representative in Kentucky. Her parents, James and Nora Copenbarger Cameron of LeRoy, IL preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Roger Bennett and two children, Chris Bennett of Lexington, KY and Robyn (Ryan) Marcum of Louisville, KY. The joy of her life was her 5 year old granddaughter, Emma Leigh Marcum. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be given to the Emma Leigh Marcum Education Fund, PO Box 1268, Versailles, KY 40383. Orella and I went to grade school together at Eugene Field in Normal, and then on to Normal Community High School. She was one of my best childhood friends. We haven't been in touch for many years but want to express my sympathy to you, her family.
