

She was married to Joseph Walter Januzik for 76 years. He preceded her in death eight weeks prior to her passing. She died on what would have been his 104th birthday.
Bertha was born in Fullerton, Nebraska on March 17, 1929, the daughter of Stella Sok and John Konwinski. She is survived by her sister, Delores; her children, Christine Craig, Gale (Jeff), Scott (Linda) and Robert (Florence). She has seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters; two brothers and a grandson.
Bertha was very artistic and talented. She painted a number of beautiful oil paintings, created quilts and many crafts. She participated in craft and art fairs throughout her adult life. She also loved to go antiquing.
She enjoyed golfing and played on a 9-hole women's league. She was an avid bridge player and loved to read. She volunteered at the Illinois Eye Center in Peoria and assisted with beginning computer classes at the community college. Bertha and Joseph enjoyed traveling the country in their RV.
Bertha's faith was very important to her and she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, IL.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Bertha and her husband, Joseph, will be held at Luther Oaks Senior Living Center, Bloomington at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL.
