Beverley Haag,89, passed peacefully at Westminster Village in Bloomington, Illinois on November 4, 2025. Born in Forrest, Illinois on August 26, 1936, to parents Louise and Jesse Crouch, she was a big sister to brothers David and Tom, who preceded her in death. She spent most of her life in Forrest, marrying John Haag in 1955 and raising daughters Susan and Laurie, encouraging and supporting their love of dance and music, while earning an LPN degree, working as a nurse, and serving as an active volunteer and leader in local community organizations, including the Girls Scouts, PTA, Band Boosters, the Methodist Church, and the Fairbury Hospital nurse’s union. Upon retirement Beverley and John traveled frequently, criss-crossing the country in their RV and spending winters in Florida where Beverley continued her life-long devotion to reading, devouring several books a week while John fished, eventually moving to Bloomington to be closer to their grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Nettleton and daughter Ashleigh Townsend, Justin (Kari Tsukuno) Wait, and Amanda Wait, and grandchildren Jordan (Carter) VanTimmeren, Jack, Brayden, Oliver, and Anders. In recent years she continued her community leadership at Westminster Village along with her life-long interest in political issues, serving as an outspoken and tireless advocate of women’s rights and the Democratic Party. Her community leadership and political involvement served and continues to serve as an inspiration to her family members in their lives. Memorials can be made to the Bloomington Public Library.
