Billie M. Gibson

Bloomington – Billie M. Gibson, 77, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Heartland Health Center, Normal.

Billie was born April 8, 1941, in Bellflower, the daughter of Carol and Arlene Straight Smith. She married George Gibson Sr. on June 25, 1960 in Bloomington. He survives.

Also surviving are their children; George (Angela) Gibson of Bloomington and Dawn (Billy) Jones of Ewing, VA; three grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Anderson; Michael (Jennifer) Gibson, and Jacob Gibson; 2 great-grandchildren, Karley and Hailee Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Gibson, and a brother, Thomas E. Smith.

Billie was a member of the Danvers Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was an active Sunday school teacher there. She loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danvers Baptist Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at eastlawn-bloomington.com.

Miss Billie was so faithful to her Lord, she served Him for many years and encouraged others to do the same. She was also faithful to her family, she loved them all very much. May the Lord comfort George, the kids and grand kids. She fought the good fight and was an example for us all.

So sorry for your loss.. Just read.. today. loved Mrs. Gibson..she was such sweetheart and a witness for the Lord!.. she loved her Lord and her family...and all those around her. Now, she's gone on to her reward.. bless her.
