

Carolyn Kay Klawitter, 80, of Bloomington, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 26, 2015. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Ellsworth, IL to Gaylord “Gay” and Ulah “Louise” (Gaffney) Moreland. She married Emil “Owen” Klawitter on February 19, 1954 and they had 4 children. She was a remarkable wife, mother and homemaker. She cared brilliantly for the family and the household finances. She loved to dance and would sing and hum around the house, as well as to the birds and animals outside, with whom she had a great affinity. She had a beloved dog Phoebe who was her constant companion for 17 years. She was a prayer warrior, who prayed for her family, friends and the world at large daily. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Owen Klawitter; her son Eric Klawitter; her daughter Teresa Klawitter; her grandchildren Ericka Pace, Amber Hyatt and Aaron Klawitter; her great granddaughter Presley Pace. She was preceded in death by her daughters Kari Klawitter Johnson in 2003 and Ivy Celeste at birth; her parents, her favorite brother Ike Moreland; and her grandson Michael Klawitter who also passed at birth.
Informal graveside services took place Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10:00am at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, IL.
