Charlie B. Driggers

Charlie was born May 24, 1937 in Lexington, SC to John M. and Lula (Vanschoyck) Driggers. He married Linda K. Hess on April 2nd 1976 in Normal.

Charlie was an avid Cardinal Fan and he enjoyed being able to ride his golf cart around Stanford and visiting with friends, he also was honored to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none, working as a manager of food services and building maintenance at the Pantagraph.

Survivors include his wife Linda of Stanford; children: Debra (Robert) Fitzgerald of Champaign, David (Terri) Driggers of Champaign; grandchildren: Kathryn (John Keeler) Haenni of Champaign, Genia Laslie of Champaign, Kameron (Amber Lipking) Fitzgerald of Urbana, Kody (Amelia Figuera) Fitzgerald of LeRoy; great-grandchildren: Skyler, Brian, Lacey, Bentley, Kynlee, Khloe; nephew: Randy (Jami) Van Schoyck of Mahomet; nieces: Joy (Scott) Rohl of Champaign, Janie Sullivan of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and grandson Kevin Reesor; nephew: Robert Van Schoyck; nieces: Lisa and Marcy Grice.

Private Family Services were held.

A Celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 pm Saturday June 7, 2014 at Allin Township Community Building, 203 N Blackstone Ave, Stanford, IL 61774

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Stanford Rescue Squad.
