Cleta Irene Jones

She was born March 7, 1933 in Shirley, IL, daughter of Jess and Leva (Hicks) Heck. She married Byrl Jones on September 2, 1950, he preceded her in death on April 7, 2008. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; four sisters and a great-granddaughter, Jovi Marie that she can now hold in her arms in Heaven.

Cleta leaves behind two daughters, Kathy (Gary) Johnson and Kim (Richard) Tuchel, both of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Stacy (Aaron) Winkler, Bloomington, Katie (Chris) Quinlan, Bloomington, Brooke (Jason Lyczak) Johnson, Bloomington, Danny Bishop and Tyler Bishop, both of Normal; four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Murray, Ruth Grove, Jean Cummins and Donna Frank, all of Bloomington.

Cleta worked at Eureka Williams from 1965 - 1994. She loved to cook for her family and she baked the best pies. Cleta raised three little pugs in her life, Opie, Rosie, Gracie and Buddy and she loved her dogs more than anything.

Cleta's best friend and confidant is her beloved sister, Dorothy, whom she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2026 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Arc of Normal and Carle Hospice for caring for Cleta so lovingly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ruby's Rescue & Retreat, McLean, IL.
