There will be a visitation for Connie at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL on Monday, April 25 for 4pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held the next day at 10 am. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
Connie was born in Bloomington on March 4, 1935 to Albert and Lucille Emery. She would go on to marry William L. Houk. William precedes her in death along with her parents, Albert and Lucille, a brother, Albert “Butch” Emery, and a sister, Mary Ellen Schultz.
She is survived by her two children, Les (Rhonda) Houk, Rosemarie (Mark) Ford, four grandchildren,
Nicolas (Rhiannon) Baker, Trace Baker, Emily Houk, Will Houk, two great-grandchildren, Savannah Baker, Sienna Baker, and two brothers, Phillip and Andy Emery.
Connie will be remembered by many for the time she spent working at Mr. Donut. She was the type of person who would always put a smile on the face of those she’d met. Her biggest joy in life was her grandkids. Her real path in life was that of a homemaker and attentive babysitter to her grandkids. If one quote could describe Connie and her life it would be “I had fun.”
Connie’s family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Historic St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1209 W Locust St, Bloomington, IL 61701 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
Condolences for the family can be made at EastLawn-Bloomington.com
