Constance "Connie" E. Fetzer

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church, where visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private entombment will take place at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donors choice.

She was born on July 31, 1924 in Lincoln, daughter of Herbert F. and Edith Barthel Roos. She married Edward John Fredrick Fetzer in 1946 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 29, 2013. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Judith Volle and one brother, Melvin Roos.

She is survived by her son, E. Ronald (Marcia) Fetzer of Bloomington and daughter, Carole (Chuck) Bolatto of Marseilles; grandchildren: Amanda (Dan) Fischer and Mark (Kristal) Fetzer of Bloomington and Chad (Christina) Bolatto of Marseilles and Callie (Michael) Dunbar of Morris and five great-grandchildren, Lauren & Paige Fischer, Connor Fetzer and Vivian & Lucas Dunbar. Also surviving is one brother, Herbert "Laddie" (Emilie) Roos of Havana.

Connie was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she served as church historian. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association, active in the LaSalle County Historical Society and was instrumental in bringing the Burgoo Festival to Utica. She was also involved in the restoration of the Illinois Michigan Canal.

Connie retired after a long career with Ottawa Silica, where she worked as the executive secretary. Connie and Ed retired to St. Germain, WI where she was involved in numerous activities and organizations. After many years in Wisconsin, they relocated to Bloomington where they spent the remainder of their retirement.
